The Training Branch focused on upgrading Coast Guard Auxiliary aviation instructional programs (C-Schools) and on extending the reach of those programs while exercising sound fiscal stewardship. By design, the Training Branch emphasizes continuing education, and currency maintenance for our leaders, pilots, and other crewmembers.

These experienced aviators, review mishap data and safety initiatives from both Coast Guard and civilian safety professional to provide the latest trends to safely enhance aviation operations. Working with the Training Branch, the Safety Branch provides instruction in areas such as human factors and crew resource management.

The division is composed of four branches having responsibility for Coast Guard Support, Contingency Communications, Qualification and Training, and Program Integration .

Auxiliary Communications Program is the umbrella under which assets may be strategically combined to meet the requirements of the Coast Guard, the Auxiliary District Commodores, and the recreational boating public. More than 8,500 Telecommunications Operator qualified members participate in the program.

In addition to many important VHF (short range) communications missions that support recreational boating safety, the ACP directly supports the active duty Coast Guard with its Auxiliary HF (long range) capabilities. HF radio facilities are engaged in the 24/7 Auxiliary Monitoring Mission . This program is a key mechanism that provides the ability to gauge the effectiveness and quality of U.S. Coast Guard’s broadcasts within the U.S. 200-mile territorial limit.

Augmentation Communications supports the USCG Communications Command ,Sectors, and other Coast Guard commands that require additional coverage of HF/MF Digital Distress frequencies during storms, communications outages, and other disruptive events.

The Education Division supports all Auxiliarists involved in Surface Operations, Telecommunications, and AUXAIR.

The Web Master Branch is responsible for developing and maintaining the Directorate web site including pages for the general public, all Auxiliarists and the more secured member sections which require password access to web pages and documents.

To be eligible for this scholarship, you need to:

If you have received either a Melbourne Merit Award or a Melbourne Access Award for overseas study that was part of your current course, you will not be considered for another award within the same category.

Selection criteria

The Melbourne Mobility Awards are awarded for the specific purpose of the scholarship.

Selection of merit scholarships are based on academic achievement using the University's soft loafers Green Mars��ll eS1C7uxE
. You must have results for your current course at the time of application. Where the number of candidates exceeds the number of scholarships available, the scholarships will be awarded to students with the highest WAM.

Selection of access scholarships are based on demonstrated social, educational and financial disadvantage.

Chancellor's Scholars, Kwong Lee Dow Scholars andstudents who entered the University between 2010- 2016 with an ATAR of at least 98 are guaranteed one Melbourne Global Scholars Award in their undergraduate degree.

You must apply for the Melbourne Mobility Awards by completing the online application form before you depart Australia.*

If you wish to apply for a scholarship on the basis of financial disadvantage, personal difficulties or disability or medical condition, you will be asked to provide supporting documents such as a Centrelink statement or medical certificates as part of the online application.

In completing an application for a Melbourne Mobility Award, you will be considered for all Melbourne Mobility Awards for which you are eligible. You do not need to apply for individual awards.

Only complete applications will be considered.

* Students applying for a Short-term program during the 2018 winter break, or approved for Exchange in Semester 2 2018 will be automatically considered for a Melbourne Mobility Award with no separate application form required.

Scholarships are awarded on a monthly basis. You should receive an outcome by email within 6 weeks of submitting your completed Melbourne Mobility Award application form.

The Melbourne Mobility Awards are only paid after you have enrolled in the University of Melbourne subject(s) for which the Scholarship was awarded. This will be exchange or study abroad placeholder subjects or a University of Melbourne overseas subject.

Established with a donation from the USA Education, Teaching and Training Foundation, these scholarships are available to students intending to undertake study in the United States of America.

The Jamakepe Travelling Scholarship is available to students intending to undertake study in the United States of America and currently enrolled in a degree in the areas of Law, Arts or Business and Economics.

This grant is available to students who are experiencing financial hardship.

Aitchison Travelling Scholarship

Established in 1994 with a bequest from David Aitchison, this scholarship is available to students experiencing financial hardship.

Established with a donation from Mrs V.M. (Betty) McCreery and this scholarship is available to students experiencing financial hardship who are enrolled in the Faculty of Science or the Melbourne Medical School.

University House Travel Scholarship

Established with a donation from University House, the staff and alumni club of the University of Melbourne, this scholarship is available to students experiencing financial hardship.

Lin Martin Melbourne Global Scholarship

Supported through the Commonwealth GovernmentHigher Education Participation and Partnerships Program, this scholarship is available to undergraduate students enrolled in a Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP) who are experiencing social, medical or financial disadvantage.

The University House Travel Scholarship, Aitchison Travelling Scholarship and John and Betty McCreery Travelling/Study Scholarship provide a one-off payment of up to $5,000.
